Does Facebook marketing work for Liquor Stores? Off course it does. How do I know? I have been using Facebook to successfully market liquor stores for the last 4 – 5 years. But when you are starting out it is important to realise that it takes time for your activities to get traction. But not always.
Last month I started working with a new retailer. I walked around the store and photographed a view interesting bottles of liquor and I posted one of them on Facebook. See below. A vintage bottle of Bärenjäger. I tried to calculate how old it was. My guess is that this bottle was ordered more than 15 years ago, probably 17 – 18. Now, calculate the cost of this bottle, plus interest, and what it must have cost to keep it on display in this store for so many years.
With the help of Facebook this bottle was sold in less than 24 hours.
And Wim, the purchaser, a childhood friend on Facebook, was less interested in the fact that this was a vintage bottle, he just wanted to replenish his stash of Bärenjäger and did not know where to find a bottle.
As of the second quarter of 2018, Facebook had 2.23 billion monthly active users. One of them is a timber contractor, dressed in khaki and uses Facebook on his mobile to find what he is looking for.

This is just a simple example of how a retailer can use Facebook. We encourage retailers to explore using paid campaigns on Facebook. Feel free to contact me if you see potential in this platform.
